Each fitness class at the Vista del Monte
Fitness & Aquatic Center is designed to include:
- Endurance activities, which
increase heart rate and breathing for extended periods of
time. They improve the health of the heart, lungs, and circulatory
system and have been shown to help prevent or delay some
diseases.
- Strength exercises that help
older adults to be strong enough to do the things they need
and like to do.
- Balance exercises to help prevent
falls, a major cause of disability in older adults.
- Stretching, which helps keep
the body limber, flexible and helps residents maintain independence.
The class names and formats emphasize the FUN
and focus of the exercise session. Each class description
is labeled by:
 |
Easiest–no
skills required. |
 |
Middle of the Road–some
skills required. |

Advanced–all skills
